About the Show
If you've ever finished a true crime documentary and thought something doesn't add up — this show is for you. Mind Motive Media goes beyond the headlines to examine the psychology, law, and media forces that shape how criminal cases are told, tried, and remembered.
About the Host
Melissa Deadrich is the host and creator of Mind Motive Media — a forensic psychology podcast for people who've always suspected the true crime story they're hearing isn't the whole one.
With a master's degree in psychology (forensic concentration) and decades working in real estate and finance, Melissa brings an unusual combination to the table: clinical training in how people think, and a career built on reading risk, motive, and human behavior under pressure.
Her focus is the gap between evidence and narrative — how cognitive bias, media framing, legal misunderstanding, and public pressure shape what we believe about real criminal cases. Each episode examines what mainstream true crime coverage leaves out, gets wrong, or oversimplifies.
